My story with LuLaRoe isn’t like most. A husband and kids is not what fueled me to start this journey. I am… Single, no children (just yet), a nanny, a designer and an entrepreneur at heart!
I have had many different businesses throughout my life. By 10 years old I had already had; a lemonade stand, a mini restaurant in my home (I remember using a whole can of whipped cream on the dessert! lol) and a movie theater, featuring The Wizard of Oz and Annie (not many people showed). Sewing and designing clothing has always been another passion of mine. At 6 years old I remember sitting on the living room floor with newspaper everywhere and making patterns to sew clothes for my dolls. I taught myself to sew on my moms old singer from the 50’s. I would spend days working on just one project. I have always had this uncontrollable desire to create and to show the world what I have to offer!
In 2006 I graduated from The Art Institute of Portland with a degree in Apparel Design. I then started my own line of children’s clothing, selling them at bazaars and markets as well as online. In 2013 I opened a children’s boutique full of handmade and made in the USA clothing and toys. It has been a good run, our store has had many ups and downs, but sadly we will be closing our doors in the early months of this year. I needed to find something else to do to bring in some extra cash, my back aches and my fingers and wrist throb from all the many years of sewing, I just needed a change in pace.
That’s when LuLaRoe fell into my lap. I saw the the fun prints yet simple designs online and had to know more! I spent hours on youtube, fb, instagram researching it and seeing all these incredible women succeeding in no time at all. That’s when I knew I HAD to be apart of this, my gut was telling me YES! Without ever touching a garment, I took the leap and signed up! I am so glad I did, I have met some amazing women and I am on such an inspiring team. I can’t wait to see what the future holds
